Stairon - Mining

Mining and Quarrying – Experience and expertise for surface and underground applications

Structures for the mining and quarrying industry require durability, safety, and long-term performance.

We deliver steel structures, subassemblies, and complete main assemblies of machinery for both aboveground and underground applications. Deliveries can be provided fully equipped and tested according to customer needs.

In machinery manufacturing, we produce frame structures for earthmoving equipment, components for piling systems, and main assemblies, emphasizing precise fits, designs that withstand fatigue loads, and wear-resistant steels.

For the process industry, we supply flotation tanks, conveyors, and transfer lines, which typically also include steel surface vulcanization.

CASE: Normet Utimec MF 328PER

Project Delivery

Stairon delivered the frame fabrication and outfitting of completed frames for Normet’s Utimec MF 328 PER personnel transport vehicles. The delivery included steel frames and associated outfitting, supporting safe and ergonomic personnel transportation in underground mining and tunneling operations.

The project included multiple units, and the deliveries were precisely tailored to Normet’s technical requirements. Robotic welding, CNC machining of large components, and precise fitting ensured structural strength, durability, and adherence to tight tolerances.

The result was a high-quality project delivery, where Stairon’s frame and outfitting solutions support the performance and longevity of Utimec MF 328 PER vehicles in demanding underground work environments.

Scope of Delivery

• Frame Fabrication
• Vehicle Outfitting

The five corner stones of our work

Exceptionally large modular production facilities

Our two large factories and modularity enable greater capacity for individual projects, regardless of their duration. The additional space in our factory eliminates the need for extra logistics or external warehousing. Modularity and space mean factories within a factory.

1

Material supply

Proactive material sourcing and in-house warehousing combined with in-house further processing significantly reduces delays in our customer projects. This means reliable delivery.

2

Data

Our experience and development in collecting production data facilitates sustainability and compliance reporting for our customers. Data sharing can be customised according to customer and project needs. To us, sustainability is concrete.

3

Experience and expertise

We are familiar with the specific characteristics and requirements of various industries. We adapt our process to the customer's needs – not the other way around. Our modern and adaptable production process scales effectively and enables predictable project management, regardless of production volumes. Project simulation, stage by stage, allows for proactive scheduling and resource planning. The customer gets what they order, for the agreed-upon price.

4

Maritime access

Post-production logistics do not have to take place on land. Our production facilities have direct access to maritime routes, along which even large and oddly shaped equipment can be delivered anywhere in the world. To put it shortly – we’re located right by a port.
