Stairon and Mesekon merged their operations - Stairon

Stairon and Mesekon merged their operations

The two Turku-based machine shop companies Stairon Ltd and Mesekon Ltd, which have been under the same ownership, merged their operations on 30 November 2025 through a sister company merger, in which Mesekon was merged into Stairon. The renewed Stairon offers highly flexible and intelligent production that adapts seamlessly to the needs and systems of demanding customers.

“Our ambition is to be a forerunner and the preferred partner in the technology industry. We have built Stairon as the manufacturing interface of the 2030s — a model that combines scalability, quality and genuine customer understanding,” says CEO Timo Kylä-Nikkilä.

Clarifying operations and strengthening production functions

Following the merger, Stairon will further define the roles of its Turku facilities and strengthen the allocation of its production functions. The Pansio plant will operate as the main unit for component manufacturing, welding and assembly. The customer-specific production lines in Pansio enable flexible and cost-efficient contract manufacturing.

The company’s goal is that approximately 75 percent of its business will be based on long-term partnership models, where production lines are tailored to customer-specific needs without fixed volume commitments.

The Itäharju unit will focus on machining, heat treatment and clean-room compliant assembly processes. These functions are supported by production environments specifically designed for demanding conditions.

Streamlined allocation of functions improves overall efficiency and strengthens transparency, communication and quality management — and enhances the company’s competitiveness.

“When the same activities are carried out in one location with shared systems, the customer benefits from faster response, consistent quality assurance and a transparent supply chain,” Kylä-Nikkilä says.

A modern, scalable and customer-centric operating model

Stairon’s production model is designed to support a wide range of manufacturing volumes, from single pieces to series of thousands. Modular, customer-specific production concepts enable rapid scaling up or down according to demand.

Stairon serves particularly the offshore, mining, defence, paper and board, and speciality vehicle industries, where high quality, full traceability and seamless integration into customers’ own quality and monitoring systems are essential.

“Stairon delivers on its customers’ growth ambitions. For us, flexibility is not a slogan, but a structural capability. Flexibility means the ability to operate in tune with the customer’s pace and ambition level,” Kylä-Nikkilä summarizes.

Stairon’s strategic focus areas

  1. Contract manufacturing – long-term partnership models
  2. Project deliveries – demanding, customer-specific solutions
  3. Lifecycle services – maintenance and continuity solutions
  4. Prototype and product development manufacturing – rapid response to product innovation
